FEASIBILITY STUDIES

 

S&B James began offering feasibility study services to our clients in response to continuing escalation of construction costs and the increasingly complicated agency review and approval process. We developed this approach to mitigate the uncertainty that has historically led to unpleasant surprises in the construction industry related to actual costs and duration of the design and construction process.

 

The S&B James feasibility study is the first phase of our design-build and CM/GC delivery systems.  This approach provides our clients with a preliminary design (or review of design if design is provided by others), construction budget and schedule for their entire project.  It is prepared in-house for a modest fee before the client has made a commitment to costly construction drawings and engineering services.

 

This process provides the client with enough information to make an informed decision and take the guess-work out of the process regarding whether to buy a property, how much to expect to spend on design and construction and how long the project will take to complete. The documentation provided empowers our clients to have preliminary discussions with governing agencies, lenders and other members of their project team.

 

Many of our clients have chosen to utilize our feasibility study approach as it has proven to be invaluable tool in lieu of the traditional “design-bid-build” process and the inherent challenges that go with it.
