Fairchild Medical Center
S+B James Construction has partnered with Fairchild Medical Center for the past 10 years, completing numerous renovations and upgrades. Our work includes improvements to clinic spaces, the sterile processing department, x-ray facilities, pharmacy, nuclear medicine, and a new liquid oxygen and propane storage yard. We have also provided emergency repairs and assistance acquiring a new medical office building (MOB). Notable project experience includes the following:
MOB Expansion: 34,740 square foot phased renovation and expansion of administrative spaces and outpatient services.
Pharmacy Clean Room Upgrade: The current segregated sterile compounding area was replaced with an anteroom area with ISO Class 8 air and a non-hazardous sterile buffer (clean) room with ISO Class 7 HEPA air and a Class 100 laminar airflow workbench (LAFW). Newly renovated work areas included storage, ROI, HIM, and a pharmacy work area.
Lobby Remodel: The 4,456 square foot remodel included installing equipment, MEP systems, fire alarms, and fire sprinklers within the existing lobby and administrative spaces. Work also included new exterior doors and exterior finishes.
Nuclear Medicine Room Remodel: Removal and replacement of the existing imaging and workstation equipment, expansion of the Nuclear Medicine Room, and remodel of existing Hot Lab and Inject Uptake rooms, including new casework, hand washing fixtures, and the relocation of existing equipment.
MRI/CT Scan Remodel: The project involved remodeling 1,968 square feet of an active medical center to create an MRI/CT scan suite. Work included slab removal and re-pouring for equipment, utility upgrades, interior finishes, and ADA-compliant updates. The project met OSHPD requirements.
