Jewett Elementary School Gymnasium & Makerspace Addition

S+B James constructed an 11,440 square foot gymnasium and makerspace building on an open playfield, designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing Jewett Elementary School campus. The gymnasium and makerspaces are pre-engineered metal structures, connected by a balloon-framed, flexible multi-purpose area. This includes a makerspace/shop, a makerspace/technology lab, a lobby, and restrooms. New concrete walkways and an extension of the original school’s covered walkway will lead to a welcoming security vestibule at the new building. The construction was phased throughout the school year.
