Winston-Dillard New Office Building and Classroom Building Additions
The Winston-Dillard School District selected S+B James Construction to deliver a major school facilities expansion through design-build construction services. The project included a new district office building along with classroom additions at McGovern Elementary School and Winston Middle School.
As the design-build contractor, S+B James Construction worked closely with district leadership and school staff to create functional, efficient spaces while minimizing disruption to ongoing school operations.
The project scope included:
- New Winston-Dillard School District Office: S+B James Construction designed and built a new 5,900-square-foot, single-story district administration building. The facility includes 12 administrative offices, a large conference room, reception and break areas, storage spaces, and utility rooms. The design maximized available space while supporting the district’s administrative and operational needs.
- McGovern Elementary School Classroom Expansion: Our team constructed two new classrooms totaling 3,060 square feet. The additional educational space was designed to support the school’s band and library science programs.
- Winston Middle School Classroom Expansion: S+B James Construction added a 1,800-square-foot classroom designed to accommodate the school’s band and choir programs.
Modern HVAC systems were installed throughout each new building and classroom addition to support comfort, efficiency, and long-term facility performance.
Throughout the fast-paced school construction project, S+B James Construction coordinated closely with Winston-Dillard School District staff to maintain progress while reducing impacts on students, teachers, and daily school activities. The completed design-build project provided the district with expanded administrative, classroom, and performing arts spaces designed to serve its students and staff for years to come.
