It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.”
– Steve Jobs
Heman Chand
Vice President
Heman’s first job at McDonalds actually taught him an important lesson that can be applied to construction: Harmony among workers is important to keep everything running smoothly, “leave no person behind”. This has transpired into how he manages and organizes his teams now. His career has also taught him the value of personal growth vs professional growth and how important it is for everyone to have a good work/life balance.
Fun Facts about Heman:
- Doesn’t know how to swim
- Parents immigrated to the U.S. when he was 7 years old
- Speaks Hindi (his native language) fluently
- Was employee of the month at McDonald’s three times
